McGhee, 15, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana is the 
official
winner of the First Annual A.M.E. Today Essay Contest.
Claynishia, an
active member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, in Baton Rouge, where the Rev. Dr.
Herman O. Kelly, Jr. is pastor, garnered 178 of the 501 votes cast in the
contest.
Claynishia, who is active in the choir and teen-age Bible studio at
church and is an avid basketball player at school will be receiving a $50 U.S.
Savings Bond from A.M.E. Today.

realize this is a contest with no losers, we all are winners to have such
talented youth in our midst.
