South African native, Rev.John J. April Announces Run For Bishop
Pastor John J. April is a South African native pastoring in Dallas, Texas, aspiring to become a bishop in the AME church to serve in Africa.
He was brought to the United States by Bishop D.G. Ming in 1977 where he received a BA, MA and Ph.D.He taught at Baylor University, Paul Quinn College(Head of Religion Dept.), Univ.of Central Texas, Central Texas College and Texas State Technical College.
He served successfully as pastor in Texas for twenty years and is the only endorsed candidate of the Tenth Episcopal District.
He had his own TV live call-in talk show,Central Issues and served as editor for Central Texas' only African-American paper.The Bottom Line.
