Cincinnati and Third Episcopal District Prepare for General Conference

The clock is rapidly counting down towards the 46th Quadrennial Session of the General Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The Third Episcopal District, headed by Presiding Prelate, Bishop Henry Allen Belin and his wife, Episcopal Supervisor Lucinda Crawford Belin, will host this year's General Conference 2000.

It will begin Wednesday, July 5 and be adjourned Wednesday, July 12th. The business of the General Conference will be conducted at the Cincinnati Convention Center, that is located at the corner of 5th and Elm Streets in Cincinnati, Ohio.  For a schedule of daily events... [Click Here]

The Convention Center is connected by a walkway to the Regal Hotel, which is the host hotel for the General Conference. Several other downtown Cincinnati hotels are similarly connected to the Convention Center.

The activities of the General Conference will be co-ordinated by the Rev. Dr. Taylor T. Thompson, who is pastor of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church in Forest Park, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. Rev. Dr. Thompson also has announced as a candidate for Connectional office. He is running for the office of Department of Ministerial Annuities.

For more information about the General Conference, or for questions, you can contact Rev. Dr. Thompson at A.M.E. General Conference 2000, 10998 Southland Boulevard, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45240 by snail mail or AMECGC2000@aol.com. He also can be contacted by telephone at 877.263.2420 or Fax at 513.825.5349.
