Monday, at 2
p.m., services were held for Mrs. Edith White Ming at Big Bethel in Atlanta,
Georgia.
"The service for
Mrs. Ming was indeed a worshipful affair," reports Presiding Elder
Carolyn Tyler Guidry, who was in attendance for the service.
"It was complete
with magnificent music including a medley of her favorite hymns," Elder
Tyler Guidry continued.
That part of the service
seemed extremely appropriate considering how much of Mrs. Ming's life was
devoted to music.
Presiding Elder Tyler
Guidry continued, "Bishop Frank Cummings (Presiding Prelate of
the 6th Episcopal District) preached a masterful sermon using 2 Corinthians
4:16 as background."
"Tributes came from
every area of the A.M.E. Church," Presiding Elder Tyler Guidry
added. "The tributes were concluded with a beautiful tribute given in
behalf of the family by her niece Ms. Patricia Hathaway, Esq. of Jersey
City, New Jersey"
We thank Elder Carolyn
Tyler Guidry for being our eyes and ears at the Atlanta service for Mrs.
Edith White Ming. Wednesday (today) services will be held for Mrs.
Ming at St. Matthew's in Philadelphia. A.M.E. Today will carry a report from
this service at its conclusion. Check the site often today for the
report.
