The 184th Session of the Philadelphia Annual Conference
Bishop Philip R. Cousin, Presiding Prelate of the First Episcopal District, held his last Philadelphia Annual Conference, as well as the final Annual Conference as Bishop of the Mother Episcoapl District, May 24-28, 2000. Below is an index to the online coverage of that final Annual Conference hosted at First Episcopal District Headquarters, at 3801 Market Street in Philadelphia and the flagship of African Methodism, Mother Bethel AME Church, at 419 Richard Allen Avenue in Philadelpia. In summary, it was an Annual Conference, that was marked by high-spirituality and superb hosting by host pastor Rev. Jeffrey Leath, of Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church and host presiding elder, Rev. Carl D. Ogden Sr. of the Philadelphia Presiding Elder District. Bishop Cousin's impending departure left many with moist eyes but also with a warm feeling for the legacy of economic soundness, and exemplory leadership he left in his wake.
