Historical Step Taken at Warren Church (WKBN 27 Youngstown)

It was history in the making at a Warren Church this weekend. Grace AME church on Main avenue appointed its first woman pastor in the church’s history.

Millville church provides food to more needy amid recession (Press of Atlantic City)

Members of the St. Augustine Prep high school wrestling team volunteer to serve diners Wednesday at Bethel AME church’s annual Thanksgiving dinner. The church served 658 dinners this year compared with just 500 last year.

Allentown’s African church celebrates bicentennial (Examiner)

ALLENTOWN — For 200 years, members of the Union African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church have congregated in the borough. Although their place of worship varied at times and one of their churches burned to the ground, their strength and spirit have endured.

The power of giving St. Paul AME Church hosts free Thanksgiving Dinner (Zanesville Times Recorder)

A group of people waiting to share a holiday meal began gathering by the church as volunteers inside prepared to open the doors. Helpers arranged the pumpkin pie and the proud cooks stood ready to serve the turkey and ham, as the familiar smells of the season filled the air.
