Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church

There
are several reasons why Richard Allen was and still is an important
factor in this year of 2001. Many of his teachings, works, and
literary works are still being used in the A.M.E. Church today.
Without his presence and abundance of knowledge, we as a part of the
A.M.E. Church would not be here today.
Richard
Allen, the founder of the A.M.E. Church, plays a significant and
meaningful role in the church. He is remembered for his dedication
and will that has reflected throughout the past 241 years. You can
only imagine the struggle and hardship that Richard Allen must have
come across during his time of gaining this highly title of
“Bishop”. This shows that Bishop Allen was not only skilled, but
was also extremely dedicated and into his work. This task alone
would be almost impossible for any human to undertake.
Without
Richard Allen, there could very well be no A.M.E. Church. This could
very easily result in lost souls and lack of knowledge about Jesus
Christ. Because of this great and wonderful man of God, many lives
have been saved in this church, testimonies have been many, sins
confessed, and last but not least, callings which have been made
unto the Lord. Marvelous things have been done in this church, back
then, and especially now.
Countless
numbers of lives have been saved, which will one day result in the
confirmation of Jesus Christ’s people have joined this church, and
have begun to learn about, and confirm the Lord as their Savior
Jesus Christ. This is the greatest gift that can be given to any one
of us here today.
Richard
Allen has not only created this church, but he has also left behind
his teachings and knowledge, which can carry out and be followed
from this day fourth and forever on.
In
this year of 2001, Richard Allen is now more important than ever
because without him, our church, our home, our foundation, would be
other wise. We still remember him today, and the question that
remains in my mind is, "Without him, where would we be?"
