Tell A Friend!

Richard Allen, the founder of the AME Church, is very important now because he will never be forgotten and that he was the first bishop in the AME Church.

Richard Allen, the man that was born into slavery 241 years ago, not only is an important man to remember, but he’s a person that made it possible for the black person to have their own church and became a minister like he did, whether it be a male or a female.

In my opinion, we have come a mighty long way, because it is possible for us as black people to do things that we probably haven’t done before in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Things such as have our own pastor, build a new foundation (such as a church), and even being financially stable. A long time ago, black people probably could not get what they wanted if it had to do with a church being built probably because of their skin color. Now we are just like everybody else. We have everything in the church that we possibly could need or have. So that’s why, in conclusion I really do thank the Lord for blessing me to be a part of this great creation, and for God bringing us this far. As the AME Church goes, and for the simple fact for me to say that I am very proud of being who I am and that’s a child of God, an AME, and a member of Richard Allen’s establishment.
