Ebony's "Young Leaders of the Future"

Magazine as one of the ‘Young Leaders of the Future’. He was one of 22

Convocation Schedule
Announced
Bishop Vinton R.
Anderson ( vander2201@aol.com )
yesterday released the schedule of the upcoming CONVO
series of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. This will be a
continuation of the series which preceded the 2000 General Conference in
Cincinnati. The first will be CONVO V, scheduled to be held at the
Marriott-Orlando Airport on Tuesday , January 28th at 10 a.m. and conclude on
Wednesday January 29th at 5 p.m. [Click
Here] for A.M. E. Today's coverage from CONVO V. CONVO VI will be held in Philadelphia
from June 29th to 30th and will dovetail with the installation of Bishop Richard
Franklin Norris as the Council of Bishops' President. CONVO VII will
be held in Birmingham Alabama Dec. 1-3 2003 and South Carolina will host CONVO
VIII in February of 2004. Bishop Anderson said, "Please
retain the schedule for the A.ME
Church's CONVO series and plan to attend. If you have any questions,

Bishops of the African Methodist
Episcopal Church unite in support of Morris Brown College
In a recent meeting of the Council of Bishops, the
Council affirmed its continued commitment to Morris Brown College,
especially at this hour of crisis. The Bishops of the AME Church said they join with
Bishop Frank C. Cummings and Board members, administration, loyal faculty,
staff, students, and the many thousands of alumni and supporters to affirm

Bishop Richard
Franklin Norris, administered the wedding vows Saturday afternoon, when his son,
Rev. Marcellus Alexander Norris married
Dawn Elizabeth Murray. Also participating were Bishop Philip R.
Cousin, Bishop Zedekiah L. Grady and Rev. Ellis Washington, pastor of host
church, St. Matthew A.M.E. Church, in Philadelphia.

It
was one of the largest weddings Philadelphia has seen in some time when Rev.
Marcellus Alexander Norris took Dawn Elizabeth Murray for his wife.
Three Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal Church participated in the
ceremony, including the groom's father Bishop Richard Franklin Norris, Presiding
Prelate of the 14th Episcopal District. Bishop Norris was joined by fellow
Bishops the Right Reverend Zedekiah L. Grady, of the host 1st Episcopal
District and Bishop Philip R. Cousin Sr., Presiding Prelate of the 4th Episcopal

sister of Bishop Gregory Ingram, called home from labor to reward on
Christmas

December 25t, 2002, of Mrs. Brenda Tipton, Sister of Bishop Gregory Gerald
McKinley Ingram, Presiding Bishop of the , Fifteenth Episcopal District of the

Zedekiah L. Grady, held his first Fall Convocation as the Presiding Prelate of the
1st Episcopal District, and showed he could both shepherd the business of
the district in a manner befitting the most experienced CEO and still
revel in the spirituality of the Holy Ghost anointed worship services which
permeated the Convocation. This was not business as usual under the exemplary,

Vernon Ross, Jr., of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Pottstown, PA,
in the Philadelphia District of the First Episcopal District, was recently the
subject of a feature in the Lutheran Theological Seminary at
Philadelphia's online magazine. Rev. Ross, a graduate of
Lutheran, was selected for his diligent work in revitalizing a church on
