"Has it ever occured to you that one hundred
pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one
accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which one must
individually bow. So one hundred worshipers meeting together, each one looking away to
Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become
"unity" conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer
fellowship." --[A W Tozer]
I thought that was pretty cool, and pretty true. I
know the best way to make a difference in this world is to inwardly gaze at Christ with
our souls. He is our light and our life. "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author
and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its
shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such
opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. In your
struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And
you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: 'My son, do not
make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because
the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.'"
--[Hebrews 12:2-6]
Let us not get hung up on judgement, but let us
discern what is best. Those who are the Lord's should set their eyes on Christ, for this
is where we have our faith. Then our faith, by looking and beholding the Lord our God,
will show who we are. Any who call themselves the Lord's followers should be on their
knees before God. Our hearts should be in worship, and our lives in harmony with the
Lord's will. Let us tune our lives to the Lord. Seek him and his kingdom, and we will not
worry. Any who dares look on his brother, must have the eyes of his soul firmly
established to behold the Lord in His Sovereignty. Look to Christ. Tune our lives to him,
and we will be in tune with each other.
