For me, Saturday is blessed, but not very restful.
As it seemed the rest of the world slumbered, I found Saturday to be just another day as
the work schedule was stacked to overflowing.
After the in-house-flood, chronicled earlier in the week, today was the day to lead the
claims adjusters through the maze of soaked floors, peeling wallpaper and lifted tiles.
It was the tour of my personal devastation.
Thank God for insurance. I was prepared to just write it off, but someone said let
your homeowner's take care of it.
Insurance is a good thing to have.
We all know that at some point in time, we will have need for it. Be it for the car,
and the possibility of a fender bender or worse, or for the home, where you might
encounter a flood or two along the way.
In our spiritual life, our insurance is assurance. Blessed assurance, that Jesus is
mine.
I know that I might have a personal fender bender or two during my life. But
Jesus is right there to fix it up for me. He covers me with the blood and fixes me
as good as new.
There may be times that we even are involved in a major crash. But Jesus is on
call 24/7. His line is never busy. And He never takes a day off, if we are in
trouble, Jesus is there to help us.
When you call an insurance company, after a lot of haggling, they give you what they feel
is a reasonable amount of money to cover your damages.
When you call on Jesus, He gives you enough grace and mercy to assure your salvation.
His love is unlimited.
I am still not sure how my insurance company and I will make out. At the conclusion of all
this, hopefully they will give me enough to get my house back in order.
But I have already called on my assurance insurance, and through the blood spilled at the
cross, Jesus already has put my spiritual house in order.
There are no further premiums that need to be paid. There is no deductible on this
account.
All I have to do is call, and restitution and restoration are made.
The next time you are in need of insurance, go for Jesus' Blessed Assurance, the only
policy that will never fail you.
