The the real saying is Thank God It's
Friday. But I want to thank the Lord for Friday since He has taken me through yet another
week and safely deposited me on the threshold of yet another weekend.
It is hard waiting for the week to be
over.
To be honest, it is hard waiting for
anything. As I grow older, my patience has started to grow longer. Only probably, because
it just takes me longer to do things anyway.
I have to admit, there are times I
even want God to move faster. There are times I want to get started, and God seems just a
little slow on the green light.
Should I stay or should I go, a song
once opined. Should I start or should I wait, I question God. This week
reaffirmed my blief we need to wait on the Lord.
I have never felt more blessed than I
have this week with the response all of you have forwarded to me in regards to the online
ministry of A.M.E. Today the Newsletter and the Web Site.
This ministry is a long time dream,
almost since the web first came into existence. A.M.E. Today came kicking and screaming
into life just a little after the birth of the web.
God has ordained that now is the time
for this ministry to come to fruition.
God never discourages you, but he will
show you and give you a sense of timing.
Its is not what I want to do on my
time, it is what is right to be done on God's time.
You can not get discouraged when it
seems like nobody is in your corner or buys into your vision. God is there. You can not
feel down, when even your family does not seem to support you. God is there. You can not
feel afraid when everybody seems to be against you and your ideas. God is there.
In the darkest hour. God is there. In
the roughest situation. God is there. When you have nobody to turn to. God is there.
Paraphrasing Psalm 27, when my mother
and my father foresake me, then the Lord will lift me up.
People will not leave you adrift
because they do not care. There are just somethings that your family and friends can not
help you with, despite a burning desire to do so.
But God never is powerless. He can do
anything but fail.
So if you have a goal, a dream, a
vision, or a desire, ask the Lord to order your steps, to give you direction as how to
achieve it to His glory. Not for your adoration or elevation but it has to be for God's
glory.
And then be patient. Wait for the Lord
to bring you within His Will and His Way.
He surely will guide you and protect
you every step of the way. And you will be used as an instrument of His glorification.
This weekend was slow in coming. So
was the birth of this ministry. Both felt like they never would get here. But each day
along the way, I repeated deep within my soul, as God continued to show me the fruits of
my labor, "Wait on the Lord, be of good cheer."
And I say to you, on this blessed
Friday, "Wait I say, On the Lord"
